Quality comes first! From our pastures to your plate.

Schulz Sheep Farm is a local family owned farm devoted to putting premium quality grass or grain fed lamb cuts on the plates of our families, friends and happy customers. Animal husbandry and humane handling are on the forefront of our sheep management procedures. Several sheep breeds are cross bred to produce a ewe that takes care of herself and nurtures her lambs to maturity with as little human interaction as possible. All that is left for you to do is enjoy the natural flavor and aroma of Schulz Sheep Farm premium lamb.

What do we do?

Our family farm produces exceptional market lambs and wool. We sell lamb primarily by the whole and half; however, we do sell bundles and individual cuts to customers who are new to the flavor of lamb. Our goal is to make our lamb chops, steaks, and roasts your first decision for dinner, family gatherings, and summer grilling.

How do we do it?

All of our lambs are born and raised here in central Wisconsin on several pastures between Hatley and Birnamwood. Our ewes are naturally bred by our rams in the late fall and give birth in the late spring. The lambs and their mothers spend all spring, summer, and fall grazing on our pastures. We do not have a feed lot. Lambs that were given antibiotics because of illness do not go to our customers; they are separated and sold to our local livestock auction. Typically, lambs are butchered in late December and January and the cuts delivered to our customers. The cycle is then complete; and with your support and business it will continue for years to come.
