Hey all! If your like me you want to try new recipes that have been referenced to you from others that have the same taste likes; you know so that your almost guaranteed to like what you made. :)
Well today I'd love to share with you an AMAZING lamb shank recipe. If you like Italian, you will LOVE this dish! Not only is this lamb shank recipe delicious but it's also a great way to use up lamb shanks! As you know they aren't the usual #1 choice cut because most people have no idea how to prepare them. That's why I'm going to show you how to make lamb shanks a favorite! Not to mention it will be super easy! Ok let's get started!
1. Marinade your lamb shanks in Italian dressing for a min of 5 hours. I typically thaw my lamb shanks and marinade them overnight in Newman's Italian dressing.
2. Mix together coating mixture:
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup flour (I substitute Pamela's mix to make this recipe gluten free)
1 tsp onion salt
1/2 tsp salt
2 TBSP Parsley flakes dried
3. Take your lamb shanks out of the marinade and coat them in your powder mixture.
4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet and brown your coated lamb shanks.
5. Put your lamb shanks in a pan with the rest of your marinade at 325 degrees for 2 hours. Turning occasionally.
* I like to make another round of the flower mixture and then sprinkle it on top of the shanks then ladle some of the hot juices over the coating so it will crispen. I do this at 1 1/2 hour mark so that the last 30 mins it can crispen. Yummy!
These lamb shanks go great with a light vegtable such as green beans or brocolli slighty cooked in olive oil with some gresh garlic.
